The ONE moment
What's one habit that you can commit to today that will bring you closer to your dreams?
Serena Williams is a professional tennis player who has won 23 major singles titles, the most by any man or woman in the Open Era.
Williams holds the most Grand Slam titles in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles combined among active players. Her 39 Grand Slam titles put her third on the all-time list and second in the Open Era: 23 in singles, 14 in women's doubles, and two in mixed doubles. She is the most recent female player to have held all four Grand Slam singles titles simultaneously (2002–03 and 2014–15).
However, all of Williams' accomplishments didn't happen overnight. These wins were a result of constant practice and habits performed by Williams day in and day out.
In our own lives, progress isn't made in a day. Progress is a culmination of repeated small habits each day. Success is merely an expression of those habits when the moment comes. Habits keep us going whether we are inspired or not. We become what we repeatedly do.Forming habits will propel us forward towards our dreams even without our conscious awareness. When we make an action a permanent habit, it shifts down into our subconscious, freeing up our minds to focus on other actions.
Success is not a product of luck but as Serena says, "working for one moment in time, not knowing when it would come."Because when that moment does come, habits will ensure we are ready to ACT.
